Enough with the hat!!!!!!

Gramie and Papa gave Lucas the most wonderful Indiana Jones hat there ever was. He gets compliments on it everywhere he goes and i do mean everywhere. he wears it everday all day always. it really does suit him. some days he wears a button shirt and tie with it and looks like such a little old man. he is constantly trying to do fancy hat tricks.

The Man Child

it is seriously hard to believe this child is 5 years old! i have learned to get him to laugh by using potty humor. i agreed to take the boys out front to play last week knowing we were very near "perfect light". i am tricky like that. i love the light the most right before sunset. these are just some random pictures from a usual evening in the yard. i am still experimenting with my larger lens. i cannot believe i have waited sooo long to get to know it. i love it!!! it is not so easy getting pictures of jackson, i have seriously worn out my welcome. when i get the shots i like, i cherish them!!!!

First day of kindergarten

i suppose i am a retro-active blogger. there is no reason i cannot add stuff from last month right? it's my bloggie blog and i can do i what i want. at my photo retreat i got some ideas for non-traditional first day of school pictures. ignore the bad lighting but it was 8 a.m. in September!!!!! i love the "i don't want to go to school" pose on the steps at school.

FALL might be my favorite....

first of all i must admit i did not take these pictures. second, i absolutely adore them. they are completely as sean took them. i feel a bit guilty editing a picture i did not take. i am not sure i would change a thing about them. i love the light and their precious faces. in these photos i see:
1. the fading sun of summer.
2. the
glow and shadows that only fall can bring.
3. everyday moments which make me want to stop time!!!

i always thought summer was my favorite season. i think i was mistaken. over the past few years i have fallen in love with the shadows and feeling of fall. i enjoy the warm hues and soft glows. i especially love dusk on an indian summer night.
